Description
This painting depicts an encounter between a person and her own shadow. The figure leans forward towards a dark silhouette, which serves as a symbol for the inner side of the personality – that which often remains hidden or repressed. The work is about self-reflection and the confrontation with one's own inner self. The gesture with the hand suggests both caution and curiosity: an attempt to understand or accept the part of oneself that is not always visible in the light. The painting touches on the theme of identity and the relationship between the visible self and the hidden side of a person.
